How to Find Out the Current Version of Windows Script Host?

The Microsoft Windows Script Host (WSH) is an automation technology for Microsoft Windows operating systems that provides scripting capabilities comparable to batch files, but with a greater range of supported features.

Windows Script Host may be used for a variety of purposes, including logon scripts, administration and general automation.

To find out the current version of your Windows Script Host, simply just run the following command:

  • Open command box (Start/Run/Cmd)
  • Type cscript
  • Hit enter

You’ll see something like this:

Cannot Delete Selected Text or Backspace Key Won’t Delete Highlighted Text in Office Word 2003

Hi, I am running Office Word 2003 and whenever I select some text and hit the backspace key the text is not deleted and instead the text becomes unselected. If I select text and attempt to enter something else in its place the text is not cleared and instead the entered keys appear above this selected text.

Here is the solution I found to solve the problem:

  • On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Edit tab.
  • Click to select the Typing replaces selection check box, and then click OK.
